is important to improve the competitiveness of The Cedar Valley
economy. The Alliance will maintain good relationships in
government at the executive, policy and operations levels of
local, state and national government to promote actions that will
strengthen the business climate of The Cedar Valley of Iowa.
Maintain working relationships with delegations of elected
and appointed officials so that The Alliance is a welcome
participant and subject-matter expert on economic
development issues affecting The Cedar Valley.
Establish legislative action priorities annually and advocate
positions that support The Cedar Valley. Collect the views of
and issues of concern to investors and Alliance operations to
establish a program of action.
Respond to public issues that concern the business interests of
The Cedar Valley.
Maintain open dialogues with elected officials in The Cedar
Valley that ensure open, predictable negotiations in new
business projects.
Inform and educate state and local governments regarding
issues and obstacles facing businesses in The Cedar Valley.
Inform and educate our investors and communities regarding
economic development issues that affect The Cedar Valley.
Inform and educate state and federal legislators and staffs
regarding programs that improve the competitive business
environment in The Cedar Valley.
Participate in regional government initiatives that support and
advance The Alliance.
Promote qualified Cedar Valley residents for appointment to
local, state and national professional positions and councils.
Develop interest among Cedar Valley residents to accept public
service positions.
Install a system to simplify the process of delivering Alliance
positions to elected officials regarding pending government action.
